The Diagnostic

Data Vapor in the Supply Chain

In the highly fragmented transportation and logistics industry, revenue leakage is a silent killer. For this $5B Private Equity portfolio company, the sheer volume of unstructured data—ranging from scanned bills of lading, disparate toll logs, inconsistent fuel receipts, and complex tiered vendor contracts—created massive operational drag.

Condensed Matter was brought in by the operating partners to conduct a strict Data & AI Diagnostic. We identified that the firm was permanently losing 4-6% of top-line revenue simply because human billing teams could not manually cross-reference complex contract SLA terms against the chaotic, real-time data streaming from their logistics fleet. The data was evaporating before it could be billed.

The Implementation

Autonomous Workflow Engineering

We didn't just automate their bad processes; we fundamentally re-architected their operating model. Our Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team built and integrated custom Agentic AI workflows directly into their ERP.

The AI agents were trained to ingest unstructured logistical documents via advanced Optical Character Recognition (OCR), instantly interpret the terms of the specific vendor contract using customized Large Language Models, and autonomously flag billing discrepancies without human intervention. The system effectively acted as a frictionless, high-speed auditor scanning millions of transactions per day.

Performance Comparison

Un-billed Revenue Leakage Pre-AI: 5.8%
Post-AI Recovery 0.2%
Invoice Processing Time 14 Days
Autonomous Processing 4 Hours
